Using footage found exclusively on YouTube, Cabo Tuna intertwines the origins of the Nazi and Soviet arms industries with the digital surveillance systems used in the Mexican context of the war on drugs. This narrative arc allows for an exploration of the Mexican government’s failed attempts to create its own aeronautical rockets, the growing dependence on technology from foreign powers and companies, the privatization of space, and finally, the contemporary strengthening of the state’s military control. Hoy en día es una de las ciudades con más asesinatos per cápita. Reuniendo historias sobre cinco objetos y personajes emblemáticos acapulqueños, Biombo de Acapulco es un documental experimental que registra la complejidad contrastante de este antiguo puerto global. Combinando una narración no lineal y polifónica con un montaje discordante compuesto por diversos materiales audiovisuales sobre el lugar, la película se inspira en los biombos orientales que llegaron
